How to Make Meatloaf in Your Instant Pot
Meatloaf is a well-known recipe for many people. You can make a delicious meatloaf in your own home with the ingredients you have on hand. It takes quite a bit of time, though, to cook a meatloaf completely through, so it’s not something that you might want to make too often unless you have leftovers. In this article, we’ll look at how to cook meatloaf in the oven and take a look at some of the different choices you have for ingredients. To begin, let’s take a look at what you’ll need.
The first thing you’ll need is an Instant Pot or a pressure cooker. These are excellent for meatloaf, as long as you remember to set the timer and turn it on. Set your cooker to its desired cooking time, which will usually be about 2 hours, and turn it on. While the cooker is heating up, check the inside temperature of your meatloaf to determine if it needs further cooking. Once the internal temperature has reached the desired level, lower the temperature of the water in your pressure cooker until the inner pot reaches the desired simmering point.

Set your oven to the exact temperature and set the timer to the same amount of time. The nice thing about meatloaf in the oven is that you can serve it right out of the oven if you like. Or you can make it into basting sauce by adding a little Rosemary or sage to the cooking mixture.
To add the spices and flavor to your meatloaf, you’ll also need four cups of low-fat dry milk, three tablespoons of dried onion powder, a quarter teaspoon of dried thyme, a quarter teaspoon of dried oregano, and two pinches of nutmeg. Use your measuring spoon to measure out the ingredients, then place them in the oven and set the timer to cook the mixture to the desired temperature. When the timer goes off, take the lid off of the Instant Pot and add in the milk and onion powders.
Next, to make sure meatloaf cook time. You’ll want to add in the ground beef. Use a fork to break up and mix the beef into the meatloaf.
If you are making it into a basting sauce, you can add in about two cups of the balsamic vinegar, cut up a clove of garlic, and mix in with the meatloaf. Cover the lid of the Instant Pot and place it in the center of the oven.
Let the meatloaf sit in the oven for about 25 minutes, so that the liquid that has been in the pot and the beef have a chance to coagulate. Once the mixture has cooled down, it’s time to baste the meatloaf. Add in the balsamic vinegar and garlic mixture and allow it to soak in for about five minutes. Then, just as with the sauce, you can cover the Instant Pot and let it bake in the oven for about 25 minutes. Remove the lid and slice into quarters and serve with your favorite baked potato.
The last thing you need to do is to sauce the meatloaf with some Worcestershire sauce and sage. Use a food processor or your blender to blend all of the ingredients until smooth and spreadable.
Once the meatloaf has finished baking, let it cool down and prepare the glaze. You can use a toothpick to add in the glaze or just use a large spoon full of the glaze.
Combine one tablespoon of each of the wine, Worcestershire sauce, sage, and garlic. In a separate bowl, combine the beer. Pour this mixture over the top of the hot foil and allow it to sit for five minutes. Since your Instant Pot is in a steam setting, this will cook quickly and the foil will hold in the juices for the perfect crust on top.
